Friends of Tasman Island – Gin for a cause

A very special gin crafted to reflect the flavours invoked by the salty windswept Tasman Island and where all the profits are directed toward the efforts of a small group of dedicated volunteers committed to the conservation and restoration of both the cultural and natural environment of the Tasman Island.

At its core, the bold, piney flavour of juniper is the defining characteristic, providing the classic gin profile. The coriander adds a slightly citrusy, spicy layer, brightening the juniper with an aromatic complexity that feels light yet grounding. The inclusion of cardamom gives a hint of warmth and exotic depth, with its subtle sweetness and floral undertones, perfectly balancing the sharper notes.The locally dried orange peel introduces a fresh, zesty burst of citrus, with its slightly bitter edge offering a nod to the coastal landscapes where citrus fruits are a common feature in traditional gin recipes. This citrus element also brings an element of freshness that invokes the air of the sea.What truly sets this gin apart is the sense of the sea.
