The Distillers Note

French Oak Ex Tawny, this release has such a good rich colour to go along with the super smooth rich flavour. You can smell the full embodiment of the French tawny from this 200Lt barrel. For ten years it has had time to soak up all those gorgeous rich flavours and the beautiful deep red colour. Sweet dark candied sugar, rich on the nose laced with caramel and spice and plump berries.

Such a delightful delicate spice, it rolls along your palate with such a gentle hum of sweetness and turns to Chestnuts and stone fruit with the warmth of French Oak lingering to finish.

We have been waiting with bated breath to release this barrel as we knew from previous tastings it was going to be special.

McHenry Whisky seem to have characteristically sweet flavour which comes from our pure spring water making every bottle distinctively McHenry.

From the barrel this beauty came out at 61% abv.

We have cut it to a delectable 46% abv

With its velvety texture and signature depth, this single malt is a true showcase of French oak done right, and a reminder that good things come to those who let them age.
